ELISE MAURINE MILNER, CEO/Founder of Hanging Cow Productions is first a writer, then a Producer and a Director, occasionally an actress, always a comedienne, and a few times, even a model (citizen!) Her first full scale Off Off Broadway production in New York City was the holiday comedy "The ButtCracker" in 2002 then again in 2014 & 2015, followed by writing/producing/directing 5 audience interactive Off Broadway Comedy Shows... ("Who Killed Mama Souprano?" Greased Lightning a 25 Year Comedy High School Reunion," "My Big Fat GEEK Wedding," "Hairy Plotter and the Murderous Stone," and "The Agagamy Award Show.") Her latest all original dramatic plays "An Arrangement of Euphoric Illusions and 2015's "The Answers To Apathy" are set to be huge Off Broadway hits in the near future! Previous to 2015, she also wrote and produced the hit drama, "The Sixth Session" which performed at the Producer's Club in 2014. Elise has been called the 'new Neil Labute' and has been compared to esteemed playwright Beth Henley (Crimes of the Heart).
"12 Steps, the Musical," was 2 years in the making from concept to stage. Elise, an adult child of alcoholics, was also raised in an alcoholic home. The strength and healing she found in 12 Step programs over the years has made her the happy and creative person she is today. 12 Steps, the Musical was also her VERY FIRST attempt at song writing! Originally from a very small town in Nevada, Elise went off and studied Writing, Acting, Theatre/TV Production, and Broadcasting for 3 years in San Francisco and for 5 years in Los Angeles. She has worked diligently and ambitiously in every aspect of the entertainment industry from performing on stage and in television and film, to a disc jockey and news producer for KGLE/KPTL Radio (West Coast), and in helping launch and develop a television pilot for Universal Studios, Hollywood. She has an extensive acting resume in all mediums of performing. As for the unique company name of "Hanging Cow Productions," Elise is quite familiar with livestock! (Horses that is) She was an accomplished, 4-H leader and professional horsewoman since the age of 14, having ridden, trained, & shown horses for over 10 years in English & Western riding. Elise is truly thankful that she is living her childhood dream to create theater! Having come to the big city not knowing anyone here and having just under $800 to her name (just like Graham Chili!) the day she started her production company she had just 23 cents in the bank while she wrote & produced her first script. She is completely self made, creating her own opportunities from the ground up, teaching herself website design, theatrical marketing, video editing, and fundraising for the shows she produces. She is a joyful example of an artist who went from rags to ramen and one day with continued hard work, maybe to riches! She would like to remind the audience that your dreams ARE possible! NEXT STOP, BROADWAY!
